West Country widow. Trying to keep the ranting down and the positive energy up. LDBH = late dearly beloved husband. KoLer.
I don’t follow back if all you do is repost. I like original content.

Because Starmer didn't wave a magic wand and make everything all right overnight, the hunt is on for someone else with a magic wand. I wish our bloody lawmakers would effing grow up.
Grey morning. Not conducive to an early start, but I have a hair appointment in an hour’s time, and roadworks’ traffic lights are causing long delays in getting into town.

I agree utterly. You are a very special person, dear @Wombat37, and will be much missed. You have lifted spirits for so many of us.
I think the pleasure is all ours. It's a privilege to be able to spend this time with you. What a special thing social media can be.

It is bin day, apparently.
But, despite my having to take evasive action and back round a corner to let the bin lorry past my house, my bin remains unemptied. 🤷‍♀️

Yes, same here. I share your pain.
Ugh real life reasserts its self

We have no mercy? The rage-filled right wing media and their stooges in the Tory and Refuk parties have no mercy. All they want to do is bring people down. #BBCpm

Trump has been given something else to lie about, rather than just the #BBC. #EpsteinFiles

1929: my grandfather worked for Kodak in Bond Street. Kodak pulled out of Britain after the crash. They did pay him off, and also paid for my mother, aged 14, to leave her convent school and go to secretarial collage. But her family never really recovered what they had lost. #BBCpm

Are predators naturally attracted to religion, just as crooks are naturally attracted to politics?

Then, at the next GE, we get MPS from Farage's fascist lot and wotsisname's Green lot, neither of which has any idea of how to govern. One lot wants to make money for themselves, others want... oh, gods know what they want but it won't be good for the UK.

Changing horses in midstream: well known way to lose out big time. It worked so well for the Tories!

That final point is absolutely crucial.
The fact that the BBC has made serious culpable errors does not negate the point that there is a real and concerted right-wing media campaign to destroy it. Both points can be true at the same time and the campaign would not end even if the errors did.

Can caverns compete? Possibly, but only in earthquake zones. Hmm.

Woke up. Got up. Had a coffee. Dozed for a bit. Woke up again. Second coffee... that's all good so far this morning.

Order update. Second gin bottle sorted. Second incorrect item is free for me to keep, and non-arriving item despatched. I knew you’d all want to know.

I got my cooking mojo back today. It had disappeared for about a week, apart from some baking. Anyway. Chicken & mushroom pie with homemade rough puff pastry (which is incredibly easy and very satisfying to make). Crushed potatoes (SiL would be happy) cos I cba to mash them properly. I have limits.

Should I emphasise that I don’t usually order multiple bottles of gin… unless I get a good offer. Which this would have been if both bottles had turned up. 🤨

Orders chaos.
One, instead of two, bottles of gin arrived. Dead silence from distillery despite emailing.
Different company: one correct item arrived & one incorrect (but very nice) item. I get to keep that, anyway, & correct item reordered. 🤞

One has to wonder how Xi and the translator keep a straight face during these conversations. There must be muffled hysterical laughter in the background.

Broken, but good night, and I feel much more awake than I did yesterday after a non-broken night. Explain that to me, Einstein.

I have had a very large gin, to help me recover from today’s trauma. This may have been a mistake. 🥴
