Also we're supposed to get like 6-12" of snow here tomorrow (our second Big Snow of the month!) and I about pissed myself laughing when a transplant on r/ChicagoSuburbs GENUINELY asked if the CTA or Metra would still be running in snow.

MY GOOD BITCH.
It has snowed in Chicago and YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS! Time to remind everyone that we light our train tracks on fire to prevent the switches from freezing.

A reminder for those who are not aware: "remigration" is the process of deporting all non-white people from a country. It includes citizens and is, by definition, ethnic cleansing.

And to be clear: this is not fake. I just screenshot it myself.

Happy #LetterboxdFriday! My #lastfourwatched are the annual Thanksgiving watches of BLOOD RAGE and BLOOD FREAK, and I’m on a Bruce Joel Rubin kick with BRAINSTORM and GHOST. I hadn’t seen GHOST since I was a kid and sure it’s kinda cheesy but it’s really sweet. Patrick Swayze was a god among men.

Since Bovino left it seems every day or every other day I hear of someone abducted by ICE agents. It’s slower, less flashy, but still happening.
“Rey Wences, senior director of deportation defense at the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, noted that “abductions” continue happening “every day in both the city and the suburbs.”

Eleven years ago, I had the nicest, intimate conversation with Udo. When an infamously pushy event-crasher tried to nudge his way into our chat by sitting down and awkwardly snickering at a joke Udo had just told me, he turned and went, "Why are you laughing?! That wasn't for you! Fuck off!" LEGEND.

The Q&A went long and the theatre eventually cut Udo’s mic, so I also got to see him yell at the staff. “I COME a LONG WAY to talk to MY FANS… and this is DISRESPECT!” R.I.P. to a real one.

RIP Udo Kier. Had an incredible evening circa 2009 seeing him interviewed by Bruce LaBruce onstage in Toronto. “So you were roommates with Fassbinder?” asked LaBruce. “AH YES!” replied Udo. “Vee vere… ‘room mates’!”

@timmoydaen.bsky.social and I have a new cat! Her name is Perla and she’s 3 years old. She needed a new home after her dad was sadly deported. She’s still adjusting, but she already likes snuggles, finding all the good places for naps, playing with the pickle and bird toys, and eating chicken. ❤️

Hey, I only have 3 plants, and they’re half dead.
Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

You can make art.

The biggest step isn't getting good at art, it's being willing to make art that doesn't match the idea of "good art" in your head.

Making a lot of imperfect art is an essential step toward making perfect art; a counterproductive goal you shouldn't have anyway.

Just make art.
