More treasures from the vault.

This 1920/30s rhinestone 'Juliet' cap of glam fever dreams. IYKYK. Delicate metal threads shape a net dotted with stones that cast a dazzling shimmer of light. Hair jewelry is seriously underrated.

Need something beautiful to look at?

How about these 100 year old hairpin boxes with the most mind bendingly beautiful lithography. The gold shimmer on these is maddening! The richness of the colors! 100 years old and utterly still dazzling.

My two "V for Victory" prints are popular on Spoonflower right now. I hope you're out there calling your reps non stop and otherwise making your voice heard. The moment is absolutely now.

This page isn't from the above collection, but from my own. Blouses are embroidered silk c. 1915. Having handled some personally - little compares.

To all members of the Fashion Ephemera Society - get ready to be spoiled! There will be TWELVE additional catalogs from 1879-1917 for you to explore tomorrow. Can't wait to share the research!

(I figured we all needed a distraction as big as these hats.)

How I store my antique silk & rayon ribbons. These get used for my 1920s pattern bras (see a few posts down).

Which sewist are you? Ferral? Or organized like the Library of Alexandria?

I also turned that 20s bra into beach bandeaus. The first is done in a fabric I designed in an art deco style, the second are a modern double gauze (so soft!)

The milage I get from this pattern is awesome. (See previous post for more info.)

Last photo just scene of them in the works. #sewing

Hands down one of the best pieces I've ever sewn - this 1920s bandeau bra from an antique pattern.

I heavily re-designed elements of it (not shown) that allow for a flex fit system that moves when worn, and I have never experienced a more comfortable bra.
