Dialogue isn’t small talk—it’s story in motion.

Every exchange should reveal character or advance conflict. Want a quick test? Read your scene aloud. If it sounds like a script, trim. If it sounds alive, keep it.

Polish your dialogue for impact and realism.

Happy Monday! It's a new week!
Some weeks you’ll fly, others you’ll crawl. Both count.

The real progress is showing up, even when confidence lags.

Writing is learned through doing—every messy draft teaches you something true. Keep going; your story matters.

A sagging middle kills momentum. The fix? A strong midpoint.

It’s the moment that changes everything—an insight, betrayal, or revelation that forces your protagonist to act differently. The best midpoints deepen emotion and escalate conflict.

Flat tension kills great stories.

At every major point, ask: what’s the worst that could happen if my protagonist fails? Then make it worse.

High stakes keep pages turning and readers emotionally invested.

Learn to build unputdownable tension:

Authors are receiving cold call emails from a supposed book club wanting to spotlight their books and do a guest Zoom meeting (for a fee). It's a SCAM in case anyone else is being approached.

These are real book clubs that this scammer is impersonating.

Please be careful, my friends.

Revision magic happens when you trim the clutter.

Words like just, really, and that can sneak into every sentence—cut them and watch your prose tighten instantly.

That first page? It’s your handshake with the reader. Don’t waste it on setup or history.

Start where the pulse beats—an action, a decision, a hint of danger or desire. Pull us in, then earn the right to slow down later.

Need help crafting a strong opening? I can help you get there.

Your opening scene sets the tone and promise of your story. Start with emotion, or tension—not backstory.

Whether it’s a chase, a charged conversation, or quiet unease, make readers feel something immediately.

Want help nailing that first chapter? Let’s work together.
