Worldbuilding for novels is basically you building a game engine for a book. You get to be 2000s-era Blizzard hacking away at its w3 engine and it's pretty great. 💙📚

Every time I finish using social media and pick up a book, it's like shifting gears and very tough to get back into a focused mindset.

I don't blame Gen Alpha for clocking out of reading. We have it bad, sure, but tech is terminal with them!

The "A Very Short Introduction" series is just the coolest thing to carry around in your pocket. They are literal pocket books, on every topic from military strategy to cryptography, history, arts, etc... I love them and wish I had every book in the collection! 📚👀

Made a new end screen for my #booktube channel on YouTube. Took a while to get the details just right but I like the final outcome! 📚👀 (picture version here; the moving / warping one will be on my upcoming videoessay)

You watch a YouTube video and halfway through 3 ads start playing back-to-back. I've never had that happen with a book. 📚👀

Every fiction book is just a remix of the dictionary. So just read the dictionary. This has been your weekly reading tip from me, Tom. 📚👀

Execs at Disney, Netflix, WB, etc... stated their strategy is to "bleed out" writers guild members who are striking for better pay. 📚👀

Do you still pay for streaming services, or have you joined the boycott yet?

Howdy! I've been trying out a pocket dictionary idea on TikTok, where each video is a different card for a word and its definition.

Check it out and see if you like it! Also if you have interesting words to suggest, let me know. 👀📚 📖

One of my biggest complaints about Twitter was that finding feeds about stuff you liked was tough, especially after they updated the UI to make things less visible. (Even when I could pick though, the algorithm kept putting me in other places it 'felt' like I would like.)

Bluesky feeds are so nice!

Everybody's TBR book piles look like they're made for the red carpet while mine is spilling out from every crevice in my room, threatening to drown me as revenge for all those trees I've helped kill.
Here are a few books I’m either reading or hoping to read this year. Also, a few more of my nature books that I also hope to finish someday. 📚🍄✨
