I'm eavesdropping on two Canadians arguing whether Madden should have a CFL division.

One of them contends it wouldn't work because the rules and field dimensions are different, and the CFL teams would be at huge talent deficit against NFL teams.

The other is delusional.

I will repeat this every single day for the next three years: Any Democrat running for president in 2028 must pledge to immediately tear down/bulldoze/demolish Trump’s ballroom and fully restore the East Wing and any other piece of the People’s House Trump has or will destroy.

#scriptsky This is a perfect meet cute.
Here is a local friendship I would like to find:

A fellow curious agnostic ecumenical panentheistic weirdo who would want to devise a long check list & attend a series of services/practices at all the various interesting, traditional, syncretic, & woo-woo houses of worship in Northern New Mexico

I'm watching a cooking show in Canada. The host used 227 grams of mushrooms. She commented that was a weird number, but that's what a standard container holds. She had no idea why they chose such a random number.

It's not random. It's a cup.🙄

How does a professional chef not know this?

Honestly, it feels a lot like Democratic leadership is punishing the country for electing Mamdani.

The entire first half of The Godfather takes place at Christmas (everything until Michael is in Italy.)

So, according to the Die Hard Axiom, The Godfather is a Christmas movie.

I know everyone is happy with the election results, but the fact that Michael Burry is betting $1.1 BILLION against AI companies is probably a much bigger reason for celebration.

I think my San Francisco and San Diego friends are way more upset with the World Series than my Canadian friends.

I abhor this movie all holidays to the weekend bullshit.
Feel like, as a society, we might consider moving Halloween to the last Friday in October (observed.) Vibes truly immaculate tonight.

Night Shift is one of the most underrated comedies of the 80's. It's remembered as Michael Keaton's manic breakout.

But it only works as a movie due to Henry Winkler's steady straight man.

Totally worth checking out.

I will not stand for this Richard Dawson ERASURE!

How did they remake #runningman and not cast #SteveHarvey as the host?

This is the worst missed stunt casting/nostalgia grab/homage/inside jokes EVER.

#baseball, #MLB absolutely gets one thing right. A 7 game series should be 2-3-2. It gives the home team a bigger advantage, meaning late regular season games can mean something. It condenses the timeline--intrest can wain over a much longer 2-2-1-1-1. 2-3-2 is just a superior format.

If one more woman tells me to tie my shoes, I swear I’m going full MRA and loudly demanding every female smile at all times.*

*I’m not really going to do this, but women please stop commenting on my clothing. I’m 55. I know my shoe laces are loose and my sweatshirt cuff is fraying. It’s a choice.

A very general military rule is if you can neutralize 10% of the enemy’s leadership, they become combat ineffective. If Sinaloa lost 171 “high ranking” members, it would be in chaos and essentially cease to exist.
The federal government keeps labeling everyone they go after as cartel members — and it keeps being proven false. These are the same people we’re supposed to trust when they execute people at sea under that very justification?

Lincoln's refusal to destroy the Confederacy and punish the perpetrators is the reason we are in our current situation.

I have never understood the Lincoln reverence.
Worst. President. EVER.

Watching Prime's new romcom, Maintenance Required. It's a remake of Shop Around the Corner, but they don't credit the Shop or the play it's based on.

Same plot. Mimics key scenes. A character even says, "Shop Around the Corner."

How did they get away with it?

One of my biggest pet peeves is people insisting martial arts are only Asian fighting arts.
Mars was the Roman god of war.
That’s why we say ‘martial arts,' ‘martial law,' and 'court martial.'

Marshall was the Roman god of designer fashion at discount prices.
That’s why we have Marshall’s.

One of the greatest pieces of art of the 20th Century, probably of all time.
GOODFELLAS was released 35 years ago today. Acclaimed as one of the great Hollywood gangster movies and among the most popular films of director Martin Scorsese, the story of how it was made will have you carrying Henry Hill’s mother’s groceries all the way home…
