Today’s darning. I washed and was ironing this new to me shirt and found a small rip in the fabric. I was tempted to ignore it but decided to darn it to ensure it didn’t get bigger and fray. I’m hoping it won’t be too noticeable but if it is I’m not sure I’ll care.

Today’s street find in south east London -two cushions that perfectly match our new sofa. They are clean and velvet. They were sitting on a window ledge that faces the street. I knocked on the door to check ok to take as sooo nice. The woman said yes. I said thank you. And so does our sofa.

For whoever needs a smiley face in the dust of our coffee table.

Made some presents from scraps of tana lawn from Liberty that my friend found at the weekend at a charity shop. They’re scrunchies. Who doesn’t love a scrunchie? I’m glad they didn’t add to my scraps pile of doom and have become something!

I found these boots today at the clothes charity bin. They were sitting outside it as the bin was overflowing. They are my husband’s size. They look like they’ve been worn less than 5xs. Did I steal from the charity or do the right thing as they will now be worn. Do you take things from the street?

More button chat. These turquoise beauties were made for this batik fabric that I think I got from a lady whose mum had passed away. I love using up things that other people had saved, sometimes for decades. It gives me a warm feeling.

So this bathroom cabinet got put up yesterday and on a very cold and wet and miserable February day, it lifts the mood. It came from my dear dear friend and it is very special that it is now part of our lives. Long may it live here in our pink and black bathroom 💕

Went to see some #biba clothes yesterday. They have been kept in a loft and were worn by the owner and her family. The detailing was striking, as well as the small size. Plus who knew Biba did children’s clothes?!
Will we value the things we own now in 50 years? We should.
