Probably marking. Or thinking about marking at least…
I was today years old, when I discovered the Tassled Wobbegong is a real animal. There might be better named animals, but I have yet to hear of one…

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

Wrote the following as a reply to a post, but feel it is right to post here too: Stoppard is a huge loss - not afraid of being intelligent, and never patronising his audience, his writing was profound, warm, kind and humane. Arcadia is wonderful, but The Invention of Love is up there too.

To all those decrying migration and suggesting that it is universally a bad thing and that we need to keep our culture white and ‘pure’, may I humbly point out that the heroic conductor who stood up to the potentially murderous attack on the train was called Samir Zitouni - a name of Saudi origin.

I am really not. I spent today discussing Ekphrasis in modernist poetry, how tension is built in ‘The Woman in Black’ , and how Shakespeare presents the initial meeting between Romeo and Juliet. I keep having to look up what Cultural Marxism IS!

Why was it not PAINFULLY obvious that Mandleson was -and is - clearly unsuited for any public office? Having been sacked twice from government, surely warning bells were there? I cannot imagine getting sacked from my job even once, and getting another job. It is amateur hour.

I wonder what it was about Mandleson’s two previous resignations that might have suggested he lacked the probity and moral sense to have any great position in government? WHAT THE HELL WAS STARMER THINKING?! He is so bad at this…

Not the most important thing about Farage’s appalling speech today (and I am not going to mention Labour’s weak response, which focuses merely on the practicality of what he is suggesting rather than (as one might hope!) the morality), but I also suspect that leaving the ECHR might open the door for
