I stop to smell the flowers, and pet the dogs. Whimsical. Resilient. Stubborn. Thoughtful. West coast girl (CA/WA/OR) living in New England not entirely on purpose.
Getting emails for “last minute” Christmas gift ideas. Last minute?? It’s December 6th. Last minute is December 24th.

Today and this weekend I have nothing I “have to” do on my list for the first time in a long time. Sure there are a few things I should do, but whatever. The freedom is exhilarating.

It’s just past 6pm and I’m heading to bed to watch tv under the covers. Been fighting a cold since I volunteered and was around hundreds of people last Thursday. 🙁

Woke up to a text saying my internet/cable is going to be out for repairs. Last time it was only out an hour or so, but since I work from home, I think I’ve decided it’s going to be out all day. Shhh no snitches.

You know what I want a Black Friday or Cyber Monday sale on? My dog’s monthly flea/tick prevention pills that are $32 per pill. She’s worth it of course, but sheesh.

Volunteered with 5 friends all day to help at a church to serve Thanksgiving dinner to the less fortunate. I’m totally wiped out now. Friend is coming over shortly and we’re having enchiladas and watching movies. #CelebrateYourWay

one of the coolest things about ChatGPT is how you can actually just never use it. you can fill your whole entire life with simply not once using it. it's incredible.

Met someone today with the same unusual name as my 7th grade social studies teacher. The same teacher who used to tell us our essays should be like a girl’s skirt - just long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to keep him interested. Yep, times were different back then. 🤦‍♀️

I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.

Tbh I feel more social pressure these days to eat cottage cheese than I ever felt pressure to do drugs in high school. 🫤

The clock shows 6:30pm but I swear it’s 10pm and time for me to go to bed. 🤦‍♀️

Expecting a package I have to sign for, so been tracking the UPS truck on the app’s map for about 2.5 hours now. It was JUST like 2 blocks from my house and now it’s about 3 miles away. Its route makes no sense.

Finally opened the envelope from my health insurance plan (I’m a contract employee so I pay my own ins). My premiums are going up from ~$700 per month to ~$1,100 per month (more than a 50% increase), and this is not even a marketplace/ACA plan (I was never getting a savings). 😢🤬

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

Some of the stray dogs living near Chernobyl have recently turned blue. This confused scientists for weeks, until they realized they had simply been rolling around in chemicals from a nearby set of portable toilets. 14/10 for all

Democrats would do well to remember that trusting a party defined by deceit and bad faith isn’t just naïve, it’s dangerous to democracy itself.

Democrats in office need to know: all of us with very few exceptions want all of you with very few exception to lose your god damn jobs because you refuse to do them.

Today in grammar pet peaves:
1) You DO pronounce the L in “vulnerable.” I’ve heard it so much lately, even by journalists, without the L.
2) The words “are” and “our” are NOT interchangeable, are not pronounced the same, and do not have the same meaning. This is becoming the new they’re/there/their.
