For context: Orbot, or "Ergo" is in-charge of the "Auto-Empire" in my Sonic AU instead of Eggman. He has all the ego, and only a little more mercy
Hangin Out, page 120: Orbot, in the process of accessing a control panel with a clawed hand, talks to Rouge the Bat, who has stolen an orange Chaos Emerald. "Have you ever wondered how the good Doctor piloted such complex mechs so well? Each one has an on-board AI designated to it. Some simple, some with complex personalities. Generally, they interpret and fine-tune the Doctor's commands, making operation more intuitive for the pilot. The cost: Very predictable attack patterns. Imagine asking for permission before acting out a reflex. "Quite irritating, in my experience. "Now: Imagine someone not giving them commands-- with only the brain using a body it was designed to have-- Meant to have-- and, well... "These mechs become very.. Precise." Rouge replies, "So, what? You're getting one to stop me? And you won't even control it yourself?" "Yes--" Orbot starts, "and no. There's one mech-- a body, that, given its raw power and prowress-- -requires a meticulous, detail-oriented AI to operate. Thankfully.." Orbot rolls towards the Dragoon mech, as it boots up. "It's mine," it says, looming over Rouge, before lurching down to meet her face to face, his giant grinning head dwarfing her entire body, "And using my body comes quite naturally for me. I think the playing field is now even, yes?" "Take it as a compliment. I'd just rather not underestimate you." Panel indicates: "MECH ID: SA-55 ALIAS: DRAGOON AUTO-EMPIRE ADMIN" Page 121 "Now, just make this easier, and" he starts, before Rouge kicks him with an energy blast, because her boots are high tech or something. The impact creates a massive "WHAM" sound effect, with the Auto-Dragoon looking quite shocked. "MINE." Rouge affirms, face manic. Her scouter also has "mine" displaying on it, numerous times. Ergo pauses, processing the shock. "Well." he starts, grinning widely, teeth parting to reveal how sharp and spiky they are, "This will be much more fun." Page 123 - you're not bugging, we skipped one because this is just a highlight reel of Sonic AU brainrot i still have. If you wanna actually read Hangin Out, go look it up on tumblr or deviantart or something. I dont know, man "What a bold approach." Ergo quips, shooting rouge with wisp-rocket-powered bullets, making BRAKTA BRRAKAKATA noises. Rouge prepares a kick, but Ergo blocks it with a drill. "Ah-ah! Careful, Rouge, careful. So merciful of me to not shoot and strike back at you at full-power, hm?" Rouge winces, as Ergo the Auto-Dragoon continues to grin. He adds, "I've got plenty in reserve, you know. Enough to tango the whole night away."
