Hey so when I said I wanted to live in precedented times for a change I didn't mean I wanted a near identical rehashing of the failed war in the Middle East that saw me into high school. Just so we're clear.

Oh my God!? We've been added to the Library of Congress. A literary magazine that I make for fun in my basement as my midlife crisis has been added to the historical record, called the uh, ahem, Taco Bell Quarterly. We are the most prestigious literary magazine of all time.

“Let me be clear: It fucking matters. Truth matters. Documentation matters. Fighting corruption matters. That accountability seems out of reach right now doesn’t change that. When we internalize the belief that nothing can change, we stop demanding change.

Truth-tellers, not rioters. Protect these two men at all costs.

Really wishing I had some popcorn right now while I watch the Big Beautiful Breakup unfold.

I love this. I hope they both lose this fight.

If I had a nickel for every time I bought a Seamus Heaney book at a used bookstore and discovered at home a few days later that there was a well preserved 25+-year-old newspaper clipping about Seamus Heaney inside it, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Today is my 11th wedding anniversary AND Hozier rereleased a new version of Like Real People Do today and it's very pretty and I've listened to it eight times so I'm considering that a personal anniversary present from The Hoziest Himself. Thanks broski

Where do I trade my current nervous system in for one that knows the difference between "This is a stressful work or social situation" and "I am actively being chased by a bear"

A few days ago I had a dream that Hozier was sitting down with me to help me plot to overthrow the US government and ever since then I have been full of Longing

Fellow authors, I love you, and I know it feels like we don’t have a choice, but B&N and Am*zon both scheduled sales this week to preempt Independent Bookstore Day, a hugely vital source of income for indie bookstores. Please don’t promote their sales; please promote your local indie this week.

Because I care deeply about combating mis- and disinformation I feel compelled to remind you all that JD Vance did NOT "kill" the Pope.

He was simply so unbearable and draining to be in a room with that the Pope lost his last shred of will to live after one conversation with him.

This is so dumb but like 10-15 yrs ago Jon Stewart yelled "Who cuts your hair and why are they so angry at you" at a conservative pundit (Glenn Beck?) & I can't find or remember the context & it's BUGGING ME so if anyone has a random encyclopedic knowledge of early 2010s The Daily Show help me out

So today I was ranting to my husband about Trump apparently using a trade war to try to get the UK to roll back LGBTQ+ protections. And my daughter, who is SEVEN YEARS OLD, pipes up, totally unprompted and casual as anything, "I would be more than okay with Donald Trump dying." o_o

Sending a crew of women to space on a billionaire's pet project and declaring it feminism while women's contributions to and history in STEM is systematically removed from records because "DEI bad" is a move. It's not a good move, but it's a move for sure.

My FB post: Be ready to need a passport, because if your birth certificate and photo ID don't match, you'll need one to register to vote.

A Man: You need to actually read the bill. It doesn't require a birth certificate unless you don't have a passport.

That's a simplified summary but 🙄 🙄 🙄

This is genuinely one of the most horrifying headlines I have ever read. I do not make comparisons like this lightly and if I am out of line PLEASE tell me, but genuinely, how is this better or much different than, say, transporting people by train car?

I wish I could see Republicans opposing tariffs as an actual shift away from Trump loyalism, but I just can't. This isn't Republican legislators realizing Trump is hurting people and has to be stopped. It's them realizing Trump is hurting THEM and he needs to go back to hurting other people instead.
