Seeing a lot of posts about why it's gross to find someone much younger than you attractive, and hoo boy does that miss the point; it implies that it would be totally fine to assault a 19-year old if you are also 19, and um, no.

i want to repeat this: mamdani and spanberger have run similar campaigns tailored to their respective electorates and it is maddening to watch political journalists attempt to create some broad contrast where none exist
the other thing about this is that there is no reason to pit these candidates against each other? each are good fits for their respective electorates and each shows the value of vigorous campaigns focused on the stated material problems of voters.

this is why i assumed the guy had enough pride to be merely bad rather than catastrophic!! "i cannot imagine retiring but also i don't care to try and do my job well" is a state of mind i cannot conceptualize

a very bleak development in terms of my view of the world in the last few years has been both ‘the Israeli govt is much worse than I thought and deserves an enormous amount of criticism’ and ‘yeah a lot of people geniunely are just low-grade antisemitic’ both apparently being true.
