The universe as we know it is a perpetual exchange system! Every touching of atoms changes each and in turn all atoms that touches those. No one touching is exactly the same, past present or future.
See that?

🎃 Every #Halloween, people dress up and take part in festivities, yet few are aware of its roots in the ancient festival of Samhain.

Story is, the veil between our world and supernatural draws thin at this time. A liminal phase.

WOW!😳
I became interested in science writing after watching a 60 Minutes segment on goats engineered to produce spider silk. Decades later, by random luck, I ended up at an institution where engineers are very close to bringing mass-produced spider silk to reality. 🧪🕷️

Our new research indicates that the gender gap in intro physics is an artifact correlated with the “stakes” associated with physics exams and is therefore NOT due to differences in preparation or understanding. 🧪🧵 #acadmicsky #HigherEd #EduSky #STEMed link.aps.org/doi/10.1103/...
High-stakes exams inflate a gender gap and contribute to systematic grading errors in one introductory physics series
A study in introductory physics suggests high-stakes exams are causing a gender gap, rather than measuring it.

I love this visualization of Rubin Observatory, which I'd never seen before, as a connection between the human, the bright cosmos that we observe, and dark cosmos that we infer 🧪🔭
Today isn't just #Halloween🎃, it's also #DarkMatterDay!

Dark matter interacts via gravity, so while we can’t see it directly, we know it’s there.

NSF–DOE Rubin Observatory's 10-year survey will measure distortions in billions of galaxies, revealing where dark matter is hiding.🔭🧪
