It's been a rough couple weeks. But through all this turmoil, the one thing I didn't have on my bingo card for things to watch out for is an active volcano.
I had no idea that Mt. Spurr is pretty much next door to Anchorage and fixing to erupt like it did in the 90s.
Gonna be a mess.

I didn't get time to suit at my first FC. But I did enjoy volunteering with the dealer's den crew to help give all the con-goers a great experience this weekend.
I'll definitely be back next year to help again.

One downside to flying to a con is there's usually a redeye flight in the mix to get down to the lower 48.

Today is the first day orientation for the new job position, and I get the jumpscare of my life when the low tire pressure alert pops up on the car dash on the commute in.
Thankfully a very slow leak or just low pressure from cold temps. But oooof...

Spending Xmas Eve/Day in a seedy DFW airport hotel was not part of the plan. But alas, canceled flights have found me stranded here with many other despondent travelers.

I finally received the email I've been waiting so long to get: the official job offer.
I'm finally going to transition from a contractor to a full federal employee in the same role I'm currently working. Same day to day work, but with better pay and benefits.
So excited for this.

Chamberlain blocked Home Assistant access to their myQ API to force me to use their app for my garage doors.
I said screw that and built my own garage door opener/sensor that I can tie into HA. Basically just Reed sensors, a relay switch, and a cannibalized garage remote.
