Darwin and Lucho were fiery players. We don’t have that at the moment. Hindsight is 20/20 but it seems the move may have been to keep one of them to play with Hugo, forget Isak, and spend instead on a true number 6 and/or center back who bring defensive intensity.
Really missing Darwin Nunez, wish we could get him back.

My first full Anfield Index USA episode is up! On each episode, a segment called “American Idiot”. My 1st question: what is this thing about missing part of a preseason causing world class footballers to magically forget how to play / have their bodies be incapable of high performance for months?

Hard to believe the team we watched Tuesday is the same team we watched today. Yes Doku had a world class performance, and yes City had all the luck and flukey goals, and yes our disallowed goal was quite questionable. But the result was deserved, and it’s 100% due to effort. #YFC #YNWA #RedSky

I can’t stand Trump in any way, but people talking about the dumb White House remodel gives me the same reaction as when **anyone ever** tells me about their home remodel: trying to pretend to care while also devoting the smallest amount of time & brain space possible to the topic.

Perhaps being an American who has watched a ton of baseball, and Mariners baseball at that(!), is helping me not overreact to failure as much as you Reds across the pond. It’s a game of failure and inches. Griffey Jr. going 0/4 with 3K’s happened a lot. Salah is a legend. Relax. #YNWA #LFC

Feels like an overreaction. His running/athleticism (which is head and shoulders above Harvey’s) mean a lot to this team. He is in a bad run of form… Glad it’s happening when the league is already won!
There has to be a better midfielder than #Szoboszlai we can buy. The man does absolutely sod all apart from run round like a headless chicken. Has no quality on the ball whatsoever and forever choosing the wrong option. Squad player at best as Elliott is head and shoulders above him.

After 30min sitting in a spa taking deep breaths, I am able to say that I am thankful to have watched that 120 minutes of football plus shootout. No shame. Unforgettable. And yes, it stings hugely to be on the wrong side of an unforgettable European night. But I love these guys. #LFC #YNWA #UTFR
