There’s a reason these people’s “jokes” about being too woke always center ableism btw. It’s because they know that it’s much less socially acceptable to minimize and dismiss racism or other forms of bigotry. With disabled people though it’s ok to make them a punchline bc they’re seen as expendable

Please read and share. But especially share with folks that might not realize how critical Section 504 is to so many people. I tried to write a simple clear explanation at the break. Gift link here: www.startribune.com/why-are-repu...

The sit-in is one of the greatest moments in American civic life, the people who would roll back its gains are monstrous ghouls undeserving to share in society.
Section 504 prohibits discrimination against disabled people & guarantees equal access to anything (services, programs, buildings, etc.) that receives federal funding. It paved the way for the ADA. The sit-in that got it passed is an extraordinary moment in US history.

I am incandescent with rage.
17 states are suing to overturn section 504.

A fund offers the best of both worlds: it gives the Sentinel a centralized, more formal hub for tax-deductible donations, but doesn’t put reliance on philanthropy at the center.
Why a centuries-old local newspaper in New Hampshire launched a journalism fund
The Keene Sentinel weighed the pros and cons of becoming a nonprofit. It chose a hybrid option instead.

Not to blog about it but the reliance on AI for creative endeavors funnels right into fascism because if you stop believing you can imagine something fantastical on your own, you stop believing anything is possible beyond what is fed to you.
Generative AI art skeeves me out because it is so unsettling to consider outsourcing your literal imagination. What do you mean you need to generate this. Why don't you just sit and think about it
