Reading the ongoing defenses of whole-language in the replies makes me imagine someone bursting into a resume workshop and objecting that having a job is useless if you don't also have money to spend on things.

I'm going to be the rambling old man at the socialist revolution continually introducing motions to exhume the corpses of the Bush administration to be put on trial like Pope Formosus. "This again..." Yes, this again! Grab a shovel, comrades. History cries out for justice.

I don't even post anything on LI, but I did this just to help the "how many people hate this as a concept" dashboard that I know some PM is looking at.

“It's rough sledding these days if you're the sort of Christian who believes that the meek will inherit the earth & that God can be found among the prisoner & the sick, the stranger & the outcast, & that the best use of power is to give it away at your own expense to those who have none…”
I wrote about attending No Kings, opposing visions of America, what hating those visions says about those who hate them, the importance being earnest, and the necessity of finding the next step.

-Donald Trump in reference to sending the National Guard

15 yrs ago, SF was remade into a tech city, with tax breaks for Uber, Twitter, Airbnb. What went wrong was inequality.

A thing I learned doing family research is that old directories would have everyone's business address right next to their home address, I guess so if you were trying to call on someone during business hours you knew where to go?
If you told this person that there used to be a book, published annually and given away for free, listing every person who lived in your town by last name alphabetically, including their street address and telephone number, a book everyone voluntarily sent their info to, they would not believe you.

Many years ago I tried this game with my wife, who had no prior TTRPG experience, and we had a lot of fun with it. It's the kind of thing you can play over drinks at the pub, as we did, and I imagine it'd be a great party game at the right kind of party.
Tis the season! The spooky season. Murderous Ghosts is a great one-shot for 2 to 20 players. You're a resourceful urban explorer, lost in a haunted building. Can you find your way out before the ghosts find you? Outlook uncertain!
