The Murder Hornet threat is down, bird-flu in humans is up - balance has been restored
A person in Louisiana has the first severe illness caused by bird flu in the U.S., health officials said.

The patient had been in contact with sick and dead birds in backyard flocks.

Previous illnesses had been mild and the vast majority had been among farmworkers exposed to sick poultry or cows.

Wow - that must have been one tough MF - imagine the havoc a whole swarm could cause !
The “murder hornet” has been eradicated in the U.S. five years after it was found in Washington State, officials say. A massive mobilization has eliminated the invasive species from that hot spot and the nation, at least for now. nyti.ms/3By69PS

I've been evaluation Product Management tools for the last few years and Index recently came up - native integration with Linear (new favorite issue tracker) and the clean simple look are appealing.

1/5 Google’s 2024 DORA State of DevOps was on my reading list this weekend but instead I decided to read Rachel Stephens’ writeup over on the RedMonk blog. The most interesting takeaway this year is that CoPilots have become established in the SDLC but we’re not seeing gains in productivity.

First attempt at making (individual) Beef Wellington - they came out well and very tasty but the pastry to steak ratio was a little high - that wouldn’t be an issue with a full tenderloin but it was just the two of us for Thanksgiving.
