Trump likes the idea of Australia’s defined contribution retirement program instead of U.S.’s defined benefits plan. Defined contribution=employee risk and vast profits for Wall Street, som what’s not to like for Trump.

This article is 1000% correct. We can’t actually achieve any of these goals without more staff. Friendly reminder that the last time we had this few staff it was 1967. We served 480 claimants per staff then. Now we have to serve 1800 per staff. This is not sustainable or even achievable. Period.
Social Security wants about 15 million fewer visits in its field offices
The new goal to cut the number of field office visits comes as the agency’s frontline locations have lost thousands of employees.

The Social Security Admin hopes to cut the number of people visiting its offices by half--15 million people--during this fiscal year, which began two months ago.

That's because they undermined in-person service by rapidly pushing out thousands of staff, creating huge pressure on local offices.

Soooo we got some of the expectations for SSA Field Offices(FO) today for FY26, and now I’m drinking tonight, so before I dive into that, let’s talk about what Frankie FiServ and his merry band of vile miscreants that run SSA are expecting of their employees this year 😐😐😐😐

The White House says that key inflation and jobs data for October will “likely never” be released due to the government shutdown.

The last time a shutdown delayed a jobs report was in October 2013, when the report was delayed by a few weeks.
