Thank you so much @chrisnsimms.bsky.social for his wonderful and fun article paying a very beautiful and faithful tribute to our recent study on cuttlefish arm signs in @sciam.bsky.social !
Cuttlefish are endlessly impressive.

Octopuses tend to get most of the attention when people talk about intelligence in cephalopods, but there are signs cuttlefish can communicate by moving their arms into specific positions, a bit like dance moves 🧪🧵

Dr. Jane made an indelible mark on our understanding of chimpanzees and other species, and also of humankind and the environments we all share.

She inspired curiosity, hope, and compassion in countless people, and paved the way for many others.

So cool.

Les seiches, qui sont déjà des animaux au sommet de la coolitude, auraient un langage des signes composé d'au moins quatre figures formées par leurs bras : haut ; côté ; roulé ; couronne.

🤩🦑🐙- The video shows our cuttlefish Osiris doing the Up sign
People sometimes say hello by raising an arm—cuttlefish may raise a pair or two (which kind of makes sense, given they have so many). That story and more of the best from @science.org and science in this edition of #ScienceAdviser: www.science.org/content/arti... 🧪
