Nomadic bumpkin, now in Cumbria, usually covered in dog hair and mud, likes books, photography, a fair, just and inclusive society, the great outdoors, amateurish gardening, and vast amounts of tea - and not necessarily always in that order.

Ever since I put the Hillary "But Her Emails" cup as my avatar, the tone of men coming at me has been STARKLY different. In the abusive direction. It's like waving a red flag. They cannot help themselves or guarantee their behavior. Anthropologically fascinating.

The law used in this case was passed in 1986.

But if Johnson wants to look at more recent laws that have been used to arrest people for their social media use, he’ll be shocked when he discovered who was in government – or even Number 10 – when they were introduced, over liberal objections.

I have rather turbulent IBS so anyone who wastes my time by arguing if my grade 3 hair cut is allowed in the "ladies" will be taking my men's trousers home to wash the diarrhoea out of them. (I've been challenged before. It's never funny. Humiliating is a better description.)
Would love to get some clarity over whether cis women who appear masculine should laugh off challenge or whether they should be excluded from sex based spaces because those are the choices they have made.

Both arguments made in the last 2 days by leading GC voices.

🧵Reform UK is trying to convince voters ahead of the local elections that it is now “professional”. Farage has condemned union members who, he said, were “telling kids that Reform is a racist party”.

So we looked into some of Reform's candidates and here's what we found 👇

As a community, it has never been so vital that we stand with our trans siblings. DIVA has always and will always stand with the trans community. There is no LGB without the T, and no DIVA without the T.

We will always stand together, united.

Kamala Harris: Don't vote for that guy, he's going to impose massive tariffs. They'll crash the markets and kill the economy.
Trump: I think massive tariffs are great so I'm doing it.

Bill Ackman: Nobody could foresee massive tariffs.

Today UK authors are protesting against Meta for stealing our work to train their AI model. Authors earn an average of £7000 per year, we are not rich, and yet a trillion dollar company decided it didn’t want to license our work fairly as it was “too expensive”

Theft is not a valid alternative.

If the government is serious about fixing the NHS and helping people back into work, it needs to fund mental health care properly.

We need shorter waiting times. We need better inpatient care. And we need real and sustained investment. 3/3
