My partner just sent me this photo of a break room doodle from his work. Sometimes it’s the little acts of resistance that choke you up. Artist, if you ever see this, we love you and we support every last atom of this mood.

Highly convinced that RFK jr learns a new medical term one day and decides to talk about it the next without knowing what it is. Today it's placenta and circumcision, tomorrow it's hemolytic anemia

there’s a reason most companies keep us non-client-facing, even if we think we’ve got great social skills
As someone who’s been around tech people for a long long time it’s WILD to me that this website thinks devs should be their forward facing outreach. Like that dude asking about toxicity is a designer!

Whoa! The shutdown’s ripple effect starting to hit.

Burbank Airport in LA County has no air traffic controllers on duty due to sick calls, last-minute day-off requests, and staffing shortages.

If you’re flying anywhere in the country, check for delays.

Please explain what options you have explored for using state and local law enforcement to protect residents from these violent thugs and why those options cannot be employed.

Ask applies to all Blue governors as well, especially my own (Newsom).

You are in charge of the Illinois State Police, and you just said you are cooperating with political leaders across Chicago who are in charge of local police. If these agents are breaking the law, arrest them and charge them. Your words do nothing to protect the people of Chicagoland. DO SOMETHING.

ICE is running around Chicago harassing people for not being white.

Just a year ago, that was illegal in the United States and now it’s commonplace.

That’s not making America great again.

A "now renting" sign outside touts granite countertops. Inside, residents are trying to make sense of the raid that made their already neglected building even worse.

“Fuck them kids.”

That’s literally what an ICE agent said when ICE, the FBI et al. raided an apartment in Chicago, including with a Blackhawk helicopter, separated children from their parents, and zip-tied them to each other.

This is deeply fucked
Two journalists are set to be tried in Kentucky this week.

Their crime? Covering a protest of the immigration detainment of Ayman Soliman, who himself fled persecution for his journalism in Egypt. Soliman’s lawyer called it a “cruel irony.”
On trial for journalism in Kentucky.
Two months after their arrests while covering a protest, a pair of local reporters face criminal charges.

It took SO long to get that policy passed requiring passengers to be reimbursed when their wheelchairs were damaged by an airline. Allowing them to keep getting away with this is disgusting.

I want this so much, especially with how Alabama makes it so hard to get solar and Alabama Power is allowed to charge us a penalty for it.
Some good news! These plug-in systems are all over Europe, whereas rooftop solar in the US is stupidly tied up in red tape, making it costly. All states should adopt this, like Utah did. And entirely nonpartisan—which is a weird thing to have to say about clean energy.
New Hampshire and Vermont could be next to introduce "balcony solar"
Cheap, plug-in systems that reduce people's bills without red tape are piquing bipartisan interest.

A rabid bat was found in Seattle near the Washington Park Arboretum. Here's what to know, and what to do if you think you might have been exposed.

The Antifa scares are like predictions of the rapture. Somehow the people receptive to such stories rarely think to themselves "hm, this is now the 14th time I've been told this was going to happen and it hasn't happened yet so, um, maybe this person is lying to me?"

WOW. This entire story is HORRIFIC. This is FOIA of a body cam from the raid in upstate New York the same day as the Hyundai plant. It catches a Border Patrol agent on camera only bragging about denying medical care to migrants detained at the border under Biden — who he says are all "animals."

1/3
The agent admits he treats immigrants like "they're animals" and that he tells his kids that they are animals "all the time"

Any prof doing this should not be able to work in academia for a decade at least after the date of the last offense.
A student told me Thursday that another prof had told the class to post their work into an AI LLM, to be graded and commented on by the AI. The other students were all offended. Which is good. They should be offended.

If this dogshit reporting doesn't make it clear, cops shot this kid with rubber bullets then when that didn't kill him used real bullets which did kill him, the kid

No police were harmed, or even scared

He was also unarmed, which is why they weren't scared of the kid saying he wanted to shoot cops
