According to my daughter I now fit into the “Young Old” category. Which tallies as I have an old salt and pepper beard, no hair and a wrinkly face but I still dress like I’m off to a Prodigy gig circa ‘94 #avit

So, 13hrs after knee surgery and I’m wired and can’t sleep. Just after midnight now - think this will be a looong night. I guess I had just over 2hrs of being under in the theatre but that doesn’t really count does it?

PLEASE don’t buy into Amazon’s booksale this week.

They are intentionally trying to eat into profits from Indie Bookstore Day this weekend, a really important annual event for our important community institutions.

Today was stressy but I managed to save it. Popped into town and spent my Christmas present on a new book from Imagined Things, picked up a free coffee from Waitrose and I’ve just got back from walking through the cherry blossoms as the sun was setting. Gonna have a glass of wine now
Aaaaaand relax

An old school friend of mine is going through a really stressful and emotional time. If you have a few minutes to visit, read and share or donate I would be very grateful.

I can’t even fathom how he is continuing to move forward :(

Must be absolutely knackered after a long Monday - just watched an episode of Dinnerladies and I got a bit emosh at the end.

Victoria Wood was a bloody genius!

Oh and here is me with Tony…soz… Andrew Dunn … yeah, I had a bit of red on me 🧟‍♂️ (and had the best “Eat Vegans” tshirt ever)

The pain of having to relive the first hangover through your eldest is heart breaking. Yes there have been multiple smirk modes but the pleading for the feeling to go away and the warnings being relayed by him to his younger sister are quite endearing.

Today I needed some mental battery recharge so I ventured out to @nationaltrust.bsky.social Brimham Rocks. I used an AA OS circular route as a guide and then went “off reservation” so I could start my walk with a tub of ice cream and a nice coffee from the cafe.

It was lush :)

First episode of Kevin Bacon’s Bondsman under my belt and I quite enjoyed it. Little nod to Beetlejuice in the first few mins and whole lot of similarities to Constantine but I’m gonna stick with it as do love a bit of Bacon :)

He was my step-dad from a young age but we never really got on unfortunately. However, this was a really hard read and I can only hope that all the questions get answered quickly as my brother and the rest of his direct family need to be able to grieve properly

It’s scary the technology we have these days. Seems GDPR hasn’t protected me and my body from being tracked for the past 2 decades!!! Wonder if there are noticeable changes in the numbers given the recent removal of gluten from my diet? 🤔

What a great write up by @theguardian.com - Corey Booker standing up in the US Senate Chamber & talking for over 25hrs toppling the previous speech duration by Strom Thurmond, a staunch opponent of the Civil Rights Act. Would love to see try & Trump rub that off the history books

Watched all of Adolescence last week and I was affected very emotionally. That parental love even in the face of the brutal truth is just so real.
I haven’t cried so much in ages from a tv series and the last scene is something that will stay with me for a very long time :(

Busy day yesterday building flat pack furniture for the dad-in-law (got the blisters to prove it). Day ended with me getting home and finding that my pooch had selectively destroyed junk mail for me in my absence.

Mickey 17… what can I say? A skit on the current US political landscape? Definitely!! A great story? Hmmmm - really good premise but I found even I lost my way about halfway through. Cute alien critters though and some good bits of humour.

Not high up on my rewatch list for sure.
