This is a great example of how NOT to implement universal screening for highly capable programs in schools. Shame on Seattle for using practices that actively discriminate against twice exceptional students with dyslexia.

On the one hand, this article is great. There is a lot of truth here and helpful kid-friendly language.

On the other hand, this line of thinking tends to lead parents and clinicians away from considering the possibility of 2e.

Our kids can compensate so well…right up until they can’t.
