Lots of folks talking about Kirk being for *civil* discussion of conservative views, but not a lot talk about what, exactly, that means. It means he believed women should ‘submit’ to their husbands, that LGBTQ are an abomination, that the Civil Rights Act was a horrible mistake…not very civil is it?

It’s possible to condemn a person’s death without glorifying their life. We can acknowledge the tragedy of a life lost while still speaking honestly about their beliefs and actions. Compassion doesn’t require silence, and honesty doesn’t erase humanity.
