It’s not enough to simply thank our veterans for their service.

Millions of them rely on SNAP and the ACA.

Many struggle with PTSD and worry about access to mental health services.

Today, on Veterans Day, let’s renew our commitment to keep fighting for those who fought for us.

The open hostility emanating from people like Kash Patel and Pam Bondi is shocking. Testimony before Congressional committees should be respectful. Firmness is ok, I mean, there's room for pushback, but then there's this type of insolence, arrogance & contempt! *The likes of which we've never seen!*
DURBIN: You won't even say whether you talked to the WH about this?

BONDI: I'm not going to discuss any internal conversations with you

D: They're going to transfer TX Guard troops to the state of Illinois. What's the rationale?

B: I wish you loved Chicago as much as you hate President Trump

One year ago, all the mainstream media talked about was how terrible inflation was. Here we are, a year later, and it’s even worse.

Riddle me this: Why does inflation under Trump get only a tiny fraction of the press attention it got last year? 🤨

It should have been over with “grab ‘em by the pussy”.
I still think it should have been all over when he said, “find 11,780 votes.”

The president just gathered the highest ranking officers in the military to tell them that he may order them to kill American citizens -- and that they better follow his orders. All in response to a series of crises that have no basis in reality.

I don't know how to yell any louder.

Let's hope they remember to whom they pledged allegiance.
Huge credit to our stone-faced senior officers.

This is the most disgusting thing I think I've seen from the president....and that's a high, hard bar.
This is one of the most demented things Trump has posted

JOHNSON: The indictment was by a grand jury

SORKIN: But my understanding is that the previous prosecutor refused to bring the case because they didn't think it was strong enough to even bring to a grand jury

JOHNSON: That's why we have a grand jury

24 hours after Kash Patel releases a statement to “clarify” that the agents went there AFTER the riot was well underway, & Fox reported Trump’s claim was false, Johnson continues to intentionally lie about it on national TV. Maybe he should pray about why he lies constantly. bsky.app/profile/atru...
MIKE JOHNSON: We have to ensure that the rule of law applies to everyone

TAPPER: Does the rule of law apply to people who stormed the Capitol on January 6?

JOHNSON: Apparently there were 274 FBI agents in the crowd

TAPPER: They were sent there to do crowd control. It wasn't a false flag operation

"I left a very successful business that I ran to come back to work for the government again, I'm back on a government paycheck." Why is it that Homan, Mace, Noem et al always claim they are victims? Poor Tom Homan. His govt paycheck is paltry, so he needed the $50k.
he says it was $50k in a Cava bag in the legal sense
Ingraham: They said you took $50,000 in cash in a bag from an undercover FBI agent…

Homan: I did nothing criminal or illegal.

Pointing out the president's lies *is* serving the public's interest. Doing it with humor is doing so with grace.
FABER: I wonder whether you're just targeting comedians who are offending the president

BRENDAN CARR: Broadcast TV is different. If you have broadcast TV license, it comes with an obligation to serve the public interest.

Canceling Jimmy Kimmel show is not about Charlie Kirk, just like going after universities was not about antisemitism and occupying DC was not about fighting crime.

Lots of folks talking about Kirk being for *civil* discussion of conservative views, but not a lot talk about what, exactly, that means. It means he believed women should ‘submit’ to their husbands, that LGBTQ are an abomination, that the Civil Rights Act was a horrible mistake…not very civil is it?

This.
It’s possible to condemn a person’s death without glorifying their life. We can acknowledge the tragedy of a life lost while still speaking honestly about their beliefs and actions. Compassion doesn’t require silence, and honesty doesn’t erase humanity.

Government not by fact but by ideology. Always a disaster because officials try to make reality fit their vision. Lysenkoism in the USSR, which tried to change the laws of nature, created famines that killed tens of millions of people in the USSR and China.
TAPPER: Hepatitis A, whooping cough, & chickenpox cases are rising in Florida. Before you made this decision to lift vaccine mandates, did your dept do any analysis of how many new cases there will be?

LADAPO: Absolutely not

T: You didn't even do a projection?

L: It's an issue of right & wrong

that
The term “anti-establishment” was redefined the same way as “working class.”

Both now mean “person of any income, education level, or type of work who holds right-wing culture war views.”

By contrast, “elites” means “holds broadly left-wing views on cultural issues.”

Clearly the Internet has made fools of us all. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry thinks they are an expert because they can Google misinformation, and every Republican pol thinks that experts are the enemy because they won’t go along with Tom, Dick, and Harry.
RFK Jr: We need to stop trusting the experts... Trusting the experts is not a feature of science or democracy, it's a feature of religion and totalitarianism.

Deeply disturbing approach by Raddatz. Of course the #s are down, there’s thousands of nat’l guard & FBI troops on the streets. But that’s not sustainable, nor is it American. We can strengthen anti-crime efforts without armed forces.
RADDATZ: One of the things they are trying to do in DC with the National Guard is have them back up local law enforcement

WES MOORE: They are picking up trash

This is an excellent idea.
Reading the new details about what went down at CDC, one thing jumps out at me: In standing up to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Director Monarez has shown the kind of backbone and integrity that often earns public servants a Profile in Courage Award—

—awarded by the family of John F. Kennedy.
Inside the CDC director's ouster: Kennedy demanded acceptance of new vaccine policies; Susan Monarez refused
Susan Monarez’s resistance to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s moves to assert control over vaccine guidance is at the center of her dismissal as CDC director

Gen. Mark Milley would have tried to stop this.
“It now seems clear that the military will not rescue Americans from Mr. Trump’s misuse of the nation’s military capabilities.”

Martial law by any other name is still dictatorship and rings the death knell for liberty.
