Remora House exists because we saw a need & just started doing stuff!

You can just do stuff to help each other. Find other people also doing the stuff. Learn from them, don’t reinvent the wheel. But you don’t need anyone to tell you to make a lasagna for your neighbor when they need the support.

It absolutely matters here that Pritzker was effective at sounding the alarm and plainly stating this would be unconstitutional in a profoundly radical and fundamental way, and showing he could rally practical popular opposition, which then gets spun as backing out over "legal headaches."

Even police officers would benefit from the abolition of police.

The chief physical threat to police officers in Los Angeles yesterday was posed by other officers, who persistently tear-gassed them and shot "less lethal" munitions at them.

The police state is bad for everyone.

Someone captured the Los Angeles radio scanner traffic from yesterday, where LAPD came under impact munitions fire from LA Sheriffs when both departments violently converged on peaceful protesters from two sides.

This isn’t about deporting undocumented immigrants this is about going after people who are not white!

Trump voter: "Reassure me that I'm a good person."

Sounds about white.
The fact that a Trump voter wants me to know that they did not vote for mass deportations is not interesting to me. What is interesting to me is what they plan to do about mass deportations, and I hope the answer isn't "I plan to ask you to assure me that I'm a good person."

ICE turned back in Somerville

So many Somerville community members came out that ICE simply retreated. Nonviolent resistance works when communities come together to protect kids and families.

The real problem is that capitalism has created such deep inequalities that it requires ever-escalating brute force to impose them on people.

Until we achieve real social change, we are only going to see more violence. Legitimizing capitalism means justifying murder.

Non-binary doesn't equal woman-lite.

These are the kind of stories that used to end political careers. Now the subjects of the stories just hold up a middle finger and keep plowing ahead.
