I take a long time to finish builds, if at all. NO KIT GETS BINNED.

Posting an old build but one of my favourites. Eduard 1/48 Me 109G-4
Revell 1/72 Hurricane Mk.IIc of 28 squadron of RAF SEAC Dalbumghar North East India 1944. Not a bad kit, not a brilliant kit, but it very much looks like a Hurricane.

Weathered and ready for a final clear and fixing of the remainder of the "breakable" items. Despite it being a 1996 Revell kit, I've quite enjoyed this one and it went together without too much fuss. #Histscalemodels

It's time to scavenge the spare Hurricane kit again that I had to buy for landing gear. I've somehow misplaced one of the cannons that had broken off while I was painting them last night. An extensive search has brought up nothing!

Think that'll do from the weathering point of view on the Hurricane. #Revell #Histscalemodels #Scalemodels

Pin washes and dot filters done on the hurricane. The last cannon is still hanging on dot dear life.

That's the decals done and sealed in with a couple of coats of gloss. I quite like the glossiness of the paint job so I may not matte it down too much for weathering and final assembly.

This is the ultra rare single cannoned Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc. Principal decals are now on. Only 30 or so stencils to put on. I wonder how long that last cannon will stay in place?

Suitably worn Hurricane nearly ready for decals. I've managed to break off two cannons and lose the landing gear. Have to pop out tomorrow to get a donor kit to finish it off before this week's club meeting. #Histscalemodels

I like the effect of the dark earth and the effect of the dark green, but I think the two look disparate next to each other. I've got to touch up the earth on the port fuselage where I had the camo putty in the wrong location. Thoughts? Does it work or not?

I know cammo putty is fluid. What I didn't know was how long it takes to apply. Its forced me to work quickly & right at the end I ballsed up with a thumb print on the starboard wing. I hastily sanded it back & painted it again, but it's a slightly different shade to the rest.

Dark earth is on the Hurricane. Looks patchy and worn which was the effect I wanted to achieve. Dark green next. #Histscalemodels

Got dark earth on the Revell Hurricane. I'd given it a dust coat of red brown 1st to try demonstrating the effect of the sun & high humidity on the aircraft in SE Asia. I don't quite think it worked how I thought it might. Camo putty arriving later this week & the green can go on.

Started chucking some paint on the Revell Hurricane. It's been a while since I used my airbrush and had a few issues. So not quite my best work so far. Needs some further mottling and a top coat.

The canopy on this kit has slight frame lines; wouldn't be picked up under Tamiya tape. Had to use kapton tape to be able to reasonably mask the very fragile parts so I had to be quite delicate & gentle. The underside should be quite acceptable under paint.

Easily the worst fitting part of this kit is the underside of the fuselage. To level it out means removing all the ribbed detail. I've found the best way to reinstate this is stretched sprue and patience.

It's begining to look like a hurricane. A Revell hurricane none the less. 1996 tooling, plenty of flash, but if you read the reviews on how to build it properly, it goes together as long as you're careful and dry fit. The worst fit is the underside rear fuselage.

Amazing the amount of detail a little pin wash can bring out. This was mig ammo starship filth oilbrusher heavily thinned with sansodor thinners

Decided to do another quick build before I tackle the intimidating MiniArt 1/48 P-47 Thunderbolt Mk.II. Wanted to do a Hurricane Mk.II knowing I had one in my stash.
