New York call your senators
CALLS ARE WORKING - it has bought us precious time, but we NEED to keep the pressure up.

Tomorrow is the cloture vote.

KEEP CALLING: (202) 224-3121 ☎️☎️☎️

Tell your Dem Senator to vote NO on Cloture and NO on the Republican spending bill.

Do NOT assume your Senator will be good on this. Trust me.
🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.

Now have word with Schumer
Thank you @warren.senate.gov
I'm voting NO on the Republican shutdown bill.

NO on handing Donald Trump and Elon Musk a blank check to spend your taxpayer money however they want.

NO on cutting funding that helps families put food on the table and crack down on wealthy tax cheats.

We need to push back.

A code made more relevant by current events
The Archivist's Code:

"The archivist has a moral obligation to society to preserve evidence on how things actually happened and to take every measure for the physical preservation of valuable records."

This doesn’t sound good
BREAKING—RFK Jr’s FDA suddenly cancels meeting to update next season’s flu vaccines, with zero explanations. Any delays will jeopardize next year’s vaccine supply chain. God help us all.

Hugely important
It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Absolutely! And, I will say, as a participant in local government we really need to get younger.
This!

This is an unsolicited PSA to support and promote your local library. They are such a special public good in more ways than are immediately obvious.
Also a great bonus for researchers: if you can, find a way to partner with library professionals in your research ❤️

That’s 4,000+ veterans, families, and researchers relying on access to service records for benefits, history, and recognition. Records matter. Access matters.

#Veterans #RecordsMatter #Archives #AccessToInformation
The National Archives' National Personnel Records Center at St. Louis receives and processes over 4,000 requests for veterans' records per day.

It seems like they are calling "Ctrl F" "AI" here.
1. OSHA has ordered the digital and physical destruction of 18 publications on workplace safety practices, according to an email obtained by Popular Information.

The email says the publications have been removed from the web and tells staff that physical copies should be "disposed of or recycled"
