Indiana University’s previous School of Journalism was named after Ernie Pyle. He was a folksie US writer and War Correspondent who died in action in the Pacific. He was anti fascist. IU has been trying to shut down journalists and journalism on campus.

My daughter is wicked smart funny and cute and single. I was visiting her in the wine country with her friend and said “You need to meet someone like @jackschlossberg.bsky.social . She looked at me like “how do you know who he is?” turned away, then turned back and said “you’re right”. Nailed it.

Canceling my trip to an Indiana lake. First summer in 51 that I won’t be there. It’s too hot and it’s too red. Staying cool in blue California. Now I just need to go explore at home.

It’s beautiful here. We also love so many our residents who may not be US documented but are our friends and pay taxes via their TIN. They contribute so much to our economy and our lives. It’s too unsafe for them to return.

My father was billeted in Wales before DDay. These are pictures of him and his fellow corpsmen and some of the local girls. Their CO let them have last day of fun, knowing what was coming. They were supposed to be DDay+7 but so

I lost my favorite white jean jacket a few years back. Loved it.
Had lunch with a GF today and complemented her on her cute jacket, she said, thanks, it’s just an old one I’ve had for a while.
Then I saw the buttons and knew it was mine since she never shops at that store.
Looks good on her.

In St Croix USVI is a former sugar plantation now used to regrow coral to implant back into the nearby reefs so future generations can see the beauty and feel their usefulness.
The “stones” in the buildings were made of coral removed from the reef centuries ago.

Our last night in Costa Rica we did a nature hike looking for owls, reptiles and spiders. We had this surprise sighting of the Red Eyed Tree Frogs. It was off season for them, but a few unseasonal storms at night made them a bit randy.
