I bought an e-bike 4 years ago and have traveled 6000 miles on it instead of driving but these techbros are dwarfing my carbon emission savings. Yes it makes me angry that we citizens are trying but the gov just lets these guys spew pollution and drive up our electric prices to boot

There's also a weird conventional wisdom forming that the Democratic agenda is toxically unpopular and that Republicans are delivering what voters want.
This is laughably false. Trump is the most unpopular president in modern history and his entire agenda is underwater.

centrists and conservatives will always do 'no not like that.' the green new deal was to address concerns about making transition politically acceptable, while spreading costs and benefits equitably, and the response was 'why is all this non-green stuff in there'
This right here, this exact sentence, is THE problem in American political journalism.
The IRA *was* cheap energy and good jobs! That was the whole bill! Democrats did precisely what political pundits are telling them to do and the pundits just ignore it.

Not only that but the IRA disproportionately located those jobs in red and purple states.
They thought it might make it harder to cut.

It really is amazing that when a popular young Democratic politician who wants to solve real problems for people beats an old-guard institutionalist Democrat in a primary, the institutionalist Democrat just stays in the race and basically runs as a Republican.

Such a perfect example of what we all give up when we refuse to address basic inequalities. I don't want to live in a country where all the public space is militarized to keep hungry people from stealing food, just give them money to buy food!

Anyway if you still work at this genocidal hate group working on behalf of apartheid in Israel and fascism in the US—and if you still quote them as an authority in any news story—you're endangering all of us.

The removal took place after FBI Director Kash Patel said he would cut ties with the ADL, though it is unclear if that has happened.

I can't stress this enough: in ranked choice systems like Cambridge has, your best bet at getting the council & school committee you want is to rank candidates in order of your genuine preference.
That means you should give your #1 vote to the person you most want to win.

what exactly would the point of this democratic party be
according to matty's reading of this we should uh, drop opposition to offshore drilling, ban urbanism and anything dense, fund the military and police more, and restore the death penalty?
