I often get leaflets and cards for takeaways, gardening services, guttering and roofing, estate agents, taxis etc pushed through my letterbox. I've never had anything quite like this before.

One of my favourite sitcoms. 44 years old! Where does the bloody time go.
The first episode of It Takes a Worried Man was broadcast on this day in 1981. Starring Peter Tilbury (who also created the series and wrote most of the episodes) it ploughs a similar comic furrow to the early series of Shelley, which given Tilbury's involvement isn't surprising

DEFENDING THE WAC: MARK LEWISOHN LOOKS AT WHY RENEWED APPRECIATION IS URGENTLY REQUIRED
I was asked to write an op-ed piece saying why I think the BBC’s Written Archives Centre (WAC) is a unique and brilliant resource, which I can do because it’s both – and why, therefore…

Stick with this superb thread. It might seem tenuous, but it's really not.
A short thread about procurement

I own a lot of different bass guitars. They all sound different and play differently so I make a choice depending what music you're performing. But if you can only afford one or two, it makes sense to get the most versatile and best value you can get for the money
A video released by Andrew Snowden MP has sparked bemusement after he accused Labour of misunderstanding fighter aircraft while misidentifying one himself in the same video.

Meet The Pemini Organisation.

In the 1970s, three friends set up an independent British film production company.

From 1972 to 1974, they produced a suspense thriller, a realistic spy film, and a romantic mystery.

But, when they disbanded, the films disappeared...

I most recently saw the film in November, last year. So do I watch it again before, during, or after I read @greavesian.bsky.social's new tome?
