Easington Moths.. 2 Merveille du Jours this morning, a dull one and an absolute stunner... even the markings differed between them..with black arrowheads along the fringe on the termen...They might not be rare, but if they were, I'd twitch one defo 🤩 😁 #teammoth #merveilledujour

Easington Moths.. a night of heavy rain associated with ex-Hurricane Gabrielle over Biscay. Migrants are trickling in. Largest single night count of Dark Sword-grass,12, Delicate, White-point, Silver Ys and Turnips. Best of a lifer, possibly a migrant (No elms), a superb Dusky-lemon Sallow #teammoth

Easington Moths.. much quieter clear night... but some nice commoner moths...and if ever there was a moth that deserved to be rare, it would be Archer's Dart...fabulous plumage 😁 with Pearly Underwing and Bulrush Wainscot as supporting cast...

Easington Moths...a light SE wind produced migrants, the best of which was a fabulous Great Brocade, nfg and an absolutely pristine Bordered Straw. Large Thorns are appearing and the Ni lure attracted a Dewick's Plusia, also nfg.😁 @migrantmothuk.bsky.social @doublekidney.bsky.social

Easington moths...A pug that I think should be a White-spotted but it has no thoracic spot (maybe faint?) and no white spots on the sides of the abdomen...so am I looking at a Golden-rod doing a White-spotted impression? Thanks @mothiduk.bsky.social

Easington Moths...the migrants keep coming.. another smart Bordered Straw and a Pearly Underwing in good condition for a change.. plus a fresh Double-lobed and a moth that had me head-scratching but I can only think that it's a plainish Sand Dart unless anyone knows otherwise.. #teammoth
June 28, 2025 at 6:00 PM
Easington Moths.. 64sp/630 moths including 2 each of Diamond-back, Dark Sword-grass and Bordered Straw..plus a very small Light Arches which made me look twice..😁and at least 5 Hummingbird Hawk-moths, but there could have been many more during the day.. and sadly, I found one deceased ☹️ #teammoth

Easington Moths..a very windy night with rain but even so, 69/323...the nicest looking was a Marbled White Spot, less than annual, a pristine Common Emerald looking very emeraldy and a micro I think may be Obscure Snout Anarsia spartiella if anyone would like to confirm it 😀 #teammoth

Easington Moths.. despite a gale-force westerly, two nfg, a Blue-bordered Carpet and a White-backed Tortrix Hedya salicella, plus Yellow Oak Tortrix Aleimma loeflingiana and a beautiful Large Fruit-tree Tortrix Archips podana...
June 23, 2025 at 2:07 PM
Easington Moths.. Martin Stoyle caught this very dark Delicate last night... @davegrundy.bsky.social would this be more likely a Spanish moth rather than a UK breeder? Pics would seem to show dark ones in Spain or is it within the UK range? Thanks.
June 22, 2025 at 7:44 PM
Easington Moths.. A few nice moths, the best of which was a Little Grass-moth, pos the 5th for Y'shire, the last in 2017. Right at the bottom of an egg box, it took some persuading to come out..also a Sandhill Knot-horn L.zelleri and Roseate Marble C.rosaceana @doublekidney.bsky.social #teammoth
June 22, 2025 at 6:03 PM

Easington Moths.. lots of moths but no UK firsts 😆 Found a nfg under the trap rim, Grass Rivulet. Plus, another but darker, Sand Dart, a Dark Sword-grass and a very pale Dusky Brocade, quite smart. I had to check it out just in case 😁 #teammoth
