It’s been a while since I’ve been on this side of social media. I feel like I consume social media in nibbles these days, which is probably a whole lot healthier than the alternative.

Thankfully I’m doing well. Been a crazy year and the path forward might be scenic, but it’s also beautiful.

A blissfully quiet Saturday to round out a busy week before another busy week sneaks up on us. I needed this so much and I’m going to enjoy every minute.

There’s something grounding about eating a beautiful meal off paper plates while lounging in a bath, sipping rhubarb strawberry soda, and reading stories about a magical Scottish town replete with a mischievous ghost coo.

Busy days need a bit of whimsy to round them out, don’t you think?

Listening to perfume reviews and the standout phrase of the day is “a few sprays of this will cling to you like religious guilt”.

My youngest son saying “son of a wowee” when he sneezes at 22 entire years old will never not amuse me.

Are we great yet? Because I’m not feeling great about any of this.

How can five days feel like fifty years?

There was no one else like Bo. Fiercely loving and protective, devastatingly funny and talented, she was a force of nature. The world is less colorful without her in it, but we’re determined to ensure her legacy lives on.

Please help us honor her.

I’m getting damn tired of living in unprecedented times. I’d really like to get back to the days where the most difficult decision I had to make was which perfume to wear.

One of the hardest things as a parent is watching your adult child navigate a devastating loss and wanting to protect them but knowing you can’t.

Bo, thank you for loving my quirky kid for the last 12 years and giving him the confidence to be himself. We’ll miss you.

Be a force for good, y’all.

One of the unspoken frustrations of aging is the incredibly itchy shins that happen randomly. Thank goodness for unscented body wash, prescription cream, and CeraVe Healing Ointment.

It’s been a while friends but I’m here. Had to let our 6+yo ferret go yesterday, which wasn’t a difficult decision (he had advanced adrenal disease) but a gut-wrenching process. I hate grief and grieving and loss and I feel like an absolute child but all I want are tacos and hugs and distractions.

As we drift through the eve of my birthday, I am thankful for the people in my life who love me, challenge me, and support me despite knowing I am a feral gremlin of a human being.

I am also thankful for Lush bath bombs, soaps, lotions, and massage bars. Especially Sleepy and Twilight. 💙

Spent some much needed time with my sister and family last week. Even indulged in some matching ink therapy! Now it’s time to rest and enjoy my birthday week.

Take care of yourselves. 💙

It’s been a long weekend. Can’t wait for my sister’s arrival on Tuesday; gonna soak up our time together before she goes back home on Saturday. There’s even a matching tattoo happening!

The goodest boy is waiting for his cousins to arrive. I don’t have the heart to tell him it’ll be dinner time before they’re here (or that it’s going to rain all day, thwarting his plans to chase them around the yard).

Downloaded my X archive before deleting. It’s hard to see how hopeful I used to be compared to how angry I am now.

Restore-a-Finish works a treat on scratched/worn ~30 year old mahogany stained cabinets. Not perfect but 90% better than they were when I started a few hours ago.

Doom cleaning, FTW!

Allergy testing update: Goob grew out of a few tree allergies but remains allergic to most trees, all weeds, and all grasses. Pollen too, and the usual cockroaches, dust/dust mites, and mold. Grew out of the egg, milk, and fish allergies but still allergic to peanuts/tree nuts, wheat, and soy.
