At the dentist/oral surgeon office, and I cringed when a middle aged guy walked out and announced "no cavities!" But 3 receptionists and an assistant cheered and clapped for him and it was so heartwarming and now I'm a little emotional. Maybe we need more clapping and cheering for little victories

usually if you ask experts why an empire fell they’ll say it’s nuanced and multifaceted, so i think it’s kind of cool that with America future historians will get to just say like “oh they took the idiot train to moronsville”

Check out this fab new album, the debut full-length from Rah Rah Rabbit, and my review for The Amp. "Sassy, irreverent, head-nodding and butt-wiggling good fun, filled with hard-won truths and glimpses of life not far from either side of the poverty line." turnuptheamp.com/home/2025/6/...

TIL: When the Original Star Wars Trilogy finally aired on Chilean TV in 2003, the network spliced custom beer commercials into the films themselves to avoid cutting to commercial breaks.

these additional scenes turn Obi-Wan & Luke into raging space alcoholics who are constantly shotgunning booze.

Precisely this
Once again, the main goal of Trump's tariffs is soliciting bribery.

That is why all who go looking for a coherent (if misguided) economic strategy that aims to benefit the country come away confused. Make manufacturing boom? Stop fentanyl? Generate revenue to replace income tax?

Nope. Corruption.

This is waaaay outside my comfort zone, but the crisis facing our country right now is easily the worst in my lifetime (and Watergate was BAD). We all have to do something #handsoff

At this year's 30A Songwriters Festival, a great new-to-me discovery was Cat Ridgeway, who's got a terrific new album coming out tomorrow. "Sprinter" is an alt and indie rock delight, inventive and endlessly entertaining. Check out my review for The Amp turnuptheamp.com/home/2025/3/...
Review- Cat Ridgeway: Sprinter — The Amp
The heart and soul of Cat Ridgeway’s new album is tattooed on her right forearm . It’s an image of a check engine light, the dashboard indicator that there’s something wrong, maybe seriously wrong,...

This is why I try to buy albums, buy merch, buy concert tickets, to give artists money in some way... because streaming doesn't pay jack. And it's why I use Tidal when I stream - at least it pays slightly better. I want (need?) musicians to keep making music, so I try to pay them when they do
