What is your story?
Love your neighbor more than your opinion 💛🌈
My favorite part about being a writer and aspiring author are all the procrastination projects I develop to avoid writing. Look at these zines and stickers I've made!

During my PhD I thought I was a bad writer, but turns out I just needed a nap.

If you're trying to figure out ways to divest from Shopify, I will help you transition to Wordpress (yes, I know, another tech bro, but at least it's open source).

I'll either consult (for small biz) or give you my time (for BIPOC/marginalized folks).

We can do this. Msg me.

I think I've reached alignment in my life. All the notebooks I've been saving for a special purpose have now found their calling and I'm using all of them.

I did my @5calls.org today and someone from Rep Young Kim's office answered again. She thanked me for being nice.

Are y'all not being nice as you communicate your demands???

Ppl in power are fine w/ you getting your PhD until you start asking questions. Questions that disrupt the current system.

Yes, education can be a threat bc it encourages us to imagine a better society.

And as we're witnessing today, some ppl don't want improvement, they want power.

The only consistent habit I've held as a writer is making the background of my word document a muted pink. It makes it more tolerable to sit in front of the computer for hours and not exhaust your eyes as quickly

Progressing through my PhD program was difficult as I dealt with an abusive advisor and the start of the pandemic. I can only imagine how hard it is for current PhD students during these unprecedented times 🥲

We're witnessing the entire country getting spiritually abused and people are still whining, "BuT mY eGgS."

I hope you smell like rotten eggs for the rest of your life.

If you’re a federal govt employee targeted for leave or termination on the basis of your DEI work, please file an EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) complaint & retain legal counsel.

I’m a former NIH PI. Happy to refer you to a law firm that has successfully sued the govt many times!

Pls repost 🙏❤️

The biggest thing I learned since 2016 is just bc you're skin folk doesn't mean you're kin folk (Zora Neale Hurston).

You don't have to be yt to perpetuate yt supremacy. So it's not a surprise to me that some orgs are dropping DEI like hot potatoes.

Let them show their cards. We'll fight back.

It's petty season.

Finish your PhD out of spite.
Conduct your research with pettiness.
Call out injustice with a grudge.

They never played nice and we need to stop catering to them to "be the bigger person."

I researched power dynamics in PhD advisor-advisee relationships. Despite the dozens of stories I've heard about academic abuse, my heart still breaks when a student tells me their story and thanks me for my research.

Students deserve to thrive in their PhD journeys.

My PhD left me so tired and burnout, I wasn't sure if I liked to write.

Well I spent this entire morning writing and researching how to write a certain section, and I loved every minute of it. So there's my proof that I do like to write.

Check in with me tomorrow to see if I sing the same time 🤣

A part of me dies inside when I talk about writing and someone asks, "Can't a.i. just do that instead?"

Between 2019 and 2025, I entered and finished a PhD program, escaped a cult, continuing to survive through a pandemic, dreading the day the orange rotten carrot takes office AGAIN, and now watching our sister county burn. I'm tired, I'd like to unsubscribe from the resiliency list pls.

January is Spiritual Abuse Awareness Month, and for my 1st post of 2025, I address people who have only heard spiritual abuse stories and do nothing but pray.

Victims of spiritual abuse need more than thoughts and prayers. Read my latest post for more.
