Yes. We must extend the ACA tax credits so that over 20 million Americans don't see a doubling in their health premiums, on average. But we must do more. We cannot remain the only major country not to guarantee health care for all as a human right.

We must pass Medicare for All.

Paramount does not have an easier path to approval of swallowing Warner Bros. than Netflix because state AGs can, will, and should challenge both of them, because they are definitely illegal.

Jared Kushner is part of Paramount's hostile bid for Warner Bros. Discovery
Paramount is telling WBD shareholders that it has a smoother path to regulatory approval than does Netflix.

Really bad idea!
There's a second front in the conservative war on the Department of Veterans Affairs. In addition to privatizing health care, Trump is now taking aim at veterans’ disability benefits, which serves 7 million Americans. Steve Early and Suzanne Gordon report.

Admittedly the potential for return is vast. Will the “market correction” involve lots of death and destruction? Only our broligarchs know. 😏

This is what the Trump administration stands for. My Iowa representatives in DC all support it.
My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.

The US government is summarily executing people on a weekly basis without telling the American people any of their names or presenting any proof of their guilt, for alleged crimes that do not carry the death penalty in the US.

How many calls does it take to get four more? 40 million? Then let’s do it!
Since we can’t ever expect Mike Johnson to do the right thing, we’re forcing a vote on extending ACA tax credits. And we only need four more members to sign the petition to make it happen.

Help us move the needle!

I grew up on and worked on a farm, which was indeed dangerous, but this is an altogether different level of danger. Capitalism clearly needs more fetters to be sustainable.
Today I want to tell you about farmworkers.
Specifically, the child farmworkers of California's Central Valley.
As young as 12 years old.
In a blue state that is failing to ensure their health and safety.
Amazing investigation in 2 parts from our friends at @capitalandmain.bsky.social. Part I:
California’s Child Farmworkers: Exhausted, Underpaid, and Toiling in Toxic Fields - The American Prospect
State officials are failing to protect the health and safety of thousands of young field laborers, an investigation has found.

Utterly ludicrous framing from @nytimes.com here, treating Pete Hegseth's arguments as if they're legitimate. The casual reader will be left with no inkling whatsoever of how unusual and corrupt an abuse of the process this truly is:

If this is the business model for you, then MAGA will suit you just fine.
Tyson is closing a Nebraska plant that employs 3,200 workers in order to “right-size” its business.

The meatpacking giant paid its CEO $22.7M last year, 525x its median employee's pay.

It also spent $196M in stock buybacks to reward shareholders.

Textbook corporate greed.
