On this day, twenty years ago, Aug 4, 2005, Phoenix Feeley walked topfree down Delancey Street in Manhattan, asserting her right to do so in New York State. NYPD officers arrested her for indecent exposure, held her for 12 hours, and sent her to Bellevue Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
