After years of teamwork, I am thrilled that our adversarial collaboration on political ideology and belief rigidity was accepted for publication at Political Psychology! Plus, it's my first Pol Psych pub, so it is doubly exciting! t.co/2TgscFm1J8

It was great to sit down with Jill Suttie at the @greatergoodmag.bsky.social and talk about our research on young children's preferences for intellectual humility over intellectual arrogance!

Even Young Children Prefer People Who Act With Humility
A new study suggests that children as young as five favor adults who express doubt when unsure rather than those who are overly confident.

Saddened by so many things that are happening in the country.

“For young researchers, “there is a lot of pressure to essentially leave the country or not pursue research,” says Emilya Ventriglia, a neuroscience Ph.D. student at Brown University…”

Stoked that my paper with Cheryl Kaiser is now out in SPPS!!
📊New research in #SPPS reports that Americans living in politically diverse communities show less animosity toward the opposing party. Cross-party contact appears to be the key mechanism at work.

@lkfazio.bsky.social and I had a great time meeting and collaborating with colleagues at Waikato and Auckland! We also managed to get several adventures in! Find yourself a colleague who both pushes you in your research and also to step outside of your comfort zone (aka caving and zip lining ‼️)

Good reporting on this aspect of the attacks on science — how the Trump administration is cutting research on mis and disinformation.

Divine forgiveness (DF)—the belief that one has been forgiven by God—is a deeply meaningful part of many people’s lives and can positively impact their well-being, including the ability to self-forgive after wrongdoing.
New research shows divine forgiveness has dual effects: It can reduce apologies through increased self-forgiveness, but also promote them through gratitude and humility.

Excited to explore whether there is "too much" intellectual humility in the context of conspiracy belief with one of my favorite colleagues (turned research adversary🙃)! Thanks to UPenn's Adversarial Collaboration Project for the opportunity.

I got an email yesterday afternoon that my NSF SPRF Postdoctoral Fellowship was terminated. My grant focused on testing interventions to address online misinformation and I was 8 months into a two year appointment.
Friday Night Massacre of accurate information.

A devastating day for the USA as tens of millions of dollars of grants seeking to combat the spread of false information were terminated. We have a federal govenrment that does not consider the verifiable truth a priority. www.nsf.gov/updates-on-p...

🚨Report your NSF grant terminations! 🚨

We are starting to collect information on NSF grant terminations to create a shared resource as we have for NIH. The more information we collect, the more we can organize, advocate, and fight back! Please share widely!

Can confirm that my NSF grant "How False Beliefs Form & How to Correct Them" was cancelled today because it is "not in alignment with current NSF priorities" Shocking that understanding how people are misled by false information is now a forbidden topic. Our work will continue but at a smaller scale
NSF has posted an “update on priorities.”

They’re canceling all “DEI and misinformation/disinformation” grants.

And the guidance on how to fulfill the longstanding, legally mandated Broadening Participation requirement is utterly incoherent.

🧪 DOGE is reporting cancelling 402 NSF grants today.

And let's recap: this is for awards that NSF has **ALREADY** judged as aligned with its mission in law, which includes broadening participation in STEM.

It bears repeating: the law supersedes exec orders. For more: www.aaup.org/sites/defaul...
