If you ever have the opportunity, I would strongly encourage taking VIA Rail's Toronto-Vancouver service, "The Canadian". I took it this past week, and absolutely will again. Top-notch meals, comfy beds, lovely staff, and the dome car. THE DOME CAR. Just spectacular.

Distract voters with an anti-bike culture war that will cost an estimated $48m that could have gone toward putting out the fires in any of the provincial files that desperately need it right now. So not just attacking cyclists but actively digging in his heels on short-changing everyone. Brilliant.🙄
Ontario's conservative premier has failed on his responsibilities of housing, transit, education, and healthcare. He is trying to distract voters from that with an anti-bike culture war which will play well to his base.

Anthony Rapp for me - strangers have stopped me on the street to tell me I "look like the guy from Rent" when I wear a scarf.

With the Richmond/Adelaide diversion track now active, Toronto streetcars have returned to Adelaide St in regular service for the first time in decades! I've been waiting years to see a streetcar against the backdrop of the Financial District canyon on Adelaide. Very different aesthetic than King.

For the new folks who have followed me in the last few days, hi! PSA: my posts normally consist of urbanism/transit observations, political commentary, and occasional gay nonsense - you've been warned 😆

The condemnation of Doug Ford's & Prabmeet Sarkaria's anti bike lane Bill 212 can be found as far away as North Bay. Per John Swart, "This time though, in Ontario, there is no bike lane debate – this is a story of cancel culture." #BikeTO #TOpoli #ONpoli www.baytoday.ca/local-news/o...
Opinion: Cancel culture comes to bicycling
Removing bike lanes isn't about bikes

Canadian friends - I know you want to stop this from happening up there. Key points I think we missed. The left here ceded the suburban & rural in-person conversation bubble many years ago. No digital media or ads or even quick door knocking compensates for this. 1/
