Given what is learned about long COVID, why are we not taking steps to improve air filtration? Why is the CDC guidance discouraging isolation periods despite scientific evidence? What are we doing to protect the immunocompromised or other vulnerable populations? Or are they not worth the cost?

Honestly it's one of the only "truths" you can learn from history. So much of History is complex, but you can see this simple repeating pattern:
- We only get through this together
- Small things add up
- Find people already doing the work
- If nobody is, start. Anywhere.

When talking about better alternatives to Harry Potter (b/c people need to be deprogrammed), I'm surprised that the Tiffany Aching books by Terry Pratchett rarely get a mention. You have a well-developed MC with a personality, cool takes on magic, and Nac Mac Feegles. Is it b/c the MC is a girl?

I installed a camera to see what was going on with our water feature that kept being taken apart at night (I recently filled it with rocks with a central fountain so it wouldn’t be constantly muddy), figuring I’d see a raccoon. I hadn’t expected an all-night pool party! 😂

i used to believe substack had significant advantages over other platforms to run a newsletter. after returning to it and seeing how it’s changed, i no longer believe that.
