I've been trying desperately to schedule a D&D session with my table and I have once again been met with my old nemesis; everyone's thoroughly disparate holiday schedules.

I'm begging December to chill out posthaste. I just want to roll dice with my friends.

I'll be totally honest: I did not have Shaggy singing It Wasn't Me during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on my bingo card.

Sometimes, Friday nights are quiet. Sometimes you frantically scribble notes as you break a plot for an upcoming arc in the D&D game you're running, trying to get as much work done as possible because, God, it's been so long since this kind of inspiration struck.

Obviously, tonight was the latter.

Return the Black Hills to native people. Other places would also be good, don’t get me wrong, but there is so much mineral wealth in the Black Hills that deserves infinitely better stewardship and isn’t gonna get it as long as mining companies can just walk onto public land.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

That moment when you're in the process of breaking an idea for a new horror story and you're struggling to understand what the monstrous force you've concocted means until, at last, it hits you in the face like a 2x4 and you suddenly generate three whole pages of notes.

Time to go crush 8 hours of production meetings. Let's do this.

People who think working in the arts isn't an actual job are absolutely delusional.

look I know being an engaged citizen IS the work of democracy but it is also the work of elected officials not to create situations where everyone has to be mobilized all the time to prevent them from allowing some kind of Dickensian horror on a Sunday night while you're in between loads of laundry

My last brain cell having just prepped pages upon pages of notes for the two massive back-to-back production meetings that I have tomorrow
a stuffed frog is floating in a red bowl of water .
Alt: A Kermit the Frog plush with its mouth open swirls around clockwise in a red bucket being filled with water.

After listening to the new Mountain Goats record, I really hope more artists follow their lead and start including an Overture on their albums. Give me a taste of what's to come. Establish your motifs. I want something from that first track to come back later in the album and smack me in the face.

This is something Robin Williams once referred to as Economic Freebasing- a term that nobody has been able to top in almost 15 years.
BREAKING: OpenAI is requesting US government support to help guarantee financing for the massive investments in AI chips and data centers it needs for expansion, per Bloomberg.

Folks, saying ABOLISH ICE isn't hard. Quite easy. The water is warm here. Jump in. Mainstream it. People will follow.

Here's another bit of conventional wisdom Zohran completely blew away: His speech was at well above a 10th-grade level. It was complex, erudite, punctuated by deep and fluent references. You don't have to condescend to voters with baby talk! Part of re-establishing norms is speaking like an adult.

So I'm doing my annual rewatch of The Lost Boys and I'll say it again just like I say it every year: nobody cornered the market on playing beleaguered mothers in the 80s quite like Dianne Wiest. We salute an icon.

If you can swing it, *now* is the time to donate to your local food bank. Hard working families in your cities need you now more than ever.
If you have it please donate cash to the food banks. $10 in their hands will feed more people than the $10 worth of canned goods you can buy for retail prices. Also check on your elders. Many of them will not admit they rely on these programs so grocery gift cards or a surprise bag of staples

It kind of just hit me that I've spent my year directing two shows that have meant the world to me for over a decade. What a wonderful job I have that I get to work on projects that hold so much meaning to me.

With the end of several months' worth of back to back production work rapidly approaching, the writer in my brain is starting to stir from his hibernation. Man, I can't wait to stretch that particular creative muscle again!

If "AI" was as valuable as they say it is, they wouldn't be selling it to you. They'd be using it themselves in secret to make the next Minecraft, the next Avatar, the next Hello Kitty and then they'd sell that to you.

They're trying to sell you a sick goose, while pretending it lays golden eggs.

Now that I'm on the other side of opening weekend for Pippin, I can officially say that I have completed work on a total of four different shows since the first of August. I've been absolutely blessed with work of late, but my God, am I ready to get some rest!
