Nobody should resubscribe to Disney until we hear Kimmel's first couple of monologues. If everything fascist and authoritarian that came for him is reduced to scorched earth and small cinder, then okay, if you want to reward a corporation for finding its nuts after losing its wallet, cool.

Well this is great news.
Blue Sky fam. The great Norman Lear left us with an important comedy, marinated in laughter and love. Created by Laverne Cox, Dan Ewen and yours truly. Honored to announce that "Clean Slate" will hit Prime Video on February 6th. We would love your support and whatnot.

The woman seated in front of me is humming along to whatever she is listening to on her headphones. It’s wonderful when people share their gifts. Her gifts are piercing nasality and lack of musicality.

No one should ever really be holding their breath for anything except:

1) underwater
2)transferring from spaceship to spaceship, no suit
3)port-a-potty at construction site

I wrote two scenes this morning. Went back to what I used to do- longhand, pen and paper- and wow did it give me a burst of joy. Writing! I’m as surprised as you are.

Similar to writing classic lines of dialogue like “A joke goes here.” or “I do a quip now.” So helpful to momentum.
Stuck in a scene? Do what the pros do: use brackets. Write what the story beat is:

[Our hero gets out of the fight through clever means]

Then just keep writing what happens after. Maintaining momentum is key to getting the most words on the page. Meanwhile solutions often present themselves later.

Outlining my pilot- there are definitely some problems. But that’s what this is, on some ways- a process of finding solutions.

Yesterday I sat down and scribbled the beats of a pilot I've been contemplating for eleventy nine years. Today I mapped it. Tomorrow outline. Thursday? It begins! First draft by Christmas.

I say this only because that kind of speed is highly unusual for me. I'd rather doubt and question.
