I love data, and learning, board games, and weight lifting. I'll likely mostly engage with politics, climate and social justice issues, #WR stuff, and whatever else smarter people than I bring my way!

Doug Ford showing us that he can get things done. Too bad he's focused on ripping up safe municipal infrastructure instead of improving health care, education, and housing.
NEW: Premier Doug Ford's bike lane removal law has now been passed by the Ontario legislature.
The government has been preparing to remove three lanes: University Ave. Bloor St. and Yonge St.

The Ford government is keeping us hooked on fossil fuels.

If we want to get serious about addressing climate change, we need to stop subsidizing big oil & gas.

Hi all,

I'm slowly building a moderation list of accounts that spread egregious false claims about COVID, vaccines etc.

You can subscribe to it and mute/block if you want.

Figured I'd make use of the trolling on my COVID/vaccine posts.

Now that the anti-bike lane bill passed, how do municipalities
do long-term planning? As I see it, they either a) never add bike lanes where car lanes would be removed or b) have to do it, then ask permission, then update and repeat. I'm worried that they may not want to even try now.

Very interesting - there are cool data about having a certain percentage of women on boards resulting in better outcomes too. Sadly, I also saw a stat that there are more CEOs named John than are women...

One of the things that Ford and Trump have in common is their ability to own the airwaves. Right now we are all (understandably) talking about bike lanes and not the cronyism, health care crisis, and misspending. The former might cement their support while the latter could cost it.

It was somewhat reassuring today to hear the government house leader's warm comments for Transgender Day of Remembrance. I wish this wasn't so surprising to me. Now we need to convince them that words aren't enough... #onpoli
