Since Paris,
a lot has happened (flood, fires, drought, hurricanes)
and not a lot has happened (governments, oil, money)
all as predicted,
but we did leave Paris with a tiny glimmer it could be different

A Sudden Stratospheric Warming is on the way. In about two weeks, temperatures 12 miles up over Canada and Greenland are forecast to spike by 50°F or more. That’s a shockwave in the stratosphere — a rapid disruption of the polar vortex high above the Arctic… 1/

Never forget: At breakneck speed we are leaving the stable Holocene climate in which human society developed and thrived. Weather extremes are outside historical experience. Sea-level rise is accelerating. Dangerous tipping points are ahead.

Marston Vale’s flood defences are about to be tested. After the flood the pumping station (which failed because - flooding 😂) was moved to the roundabout at the top. But all that water - still has to go somewhere 🧐 #climate #collapse

Local areas can lead the way on protecting nature, making lives better and securing a safe future for all of us - but they need government to stop starving them of funds.

@carladenyer.bsky.social led the way with her Climate Emergency declaration. Now time for the Government to step up.

Rachel Reeves' budget is bound to be a failure.

At every juncture so far, Labour have refused to properly address:
- supermarket & energy company price gouging & profiteering
- parasitic privatisation of public services (e.g. Thames Water)

So how can it be anything other than a disaster?

Learning about the murder of Rachel Corrie woke me up. But still for a long time I was not vocal about the reality in Palestine. During that time I watched, and every new transgression of human decency, of international law, every crime, corroborated the evidence of terror.

Millions of people don’t think or look for facts, instead choosing to trust the BBC. When the BBC isn’t there, maybe they will actually see what is being done to us? Or maybe people no longer have the capacity to grasp reality? A sort of de-evolution.
