Autocrats believe that only the conservative elite should be the "deep state," not progressives. The few should determine what it means to be American. I.e. freedom ends as democracy is jettisoned.

Democracy is messy. Autocrats seek to eliminate the messiness, which places them against democracy, against the US Constitution.

It is becoming increasingly obvious that the GOP has become post constitutional. However they try to frame themselves, they are not patriots.

Reminder: Salmonella — even the most dangerous strains — perishes at 165 degrees Fahrenheit, and a meat thermometer is the only surefire way to tell if your turkey has reached that temperature.

With so many data points over so many decades, surely AI can now give us a definitive diagnosis of Trump, right?

No part of Ukraine belongs to Russia. That can't be too difficult to grasp.

Increasingly, it seems stupid to trust any government entity with GOP leadership. The lives of everyday people are NOT their priority. So, how you travel, what you eat, how you communicate, etc, now lacks credible oversight.

Maybe our nation needed a year of crazy in order to realize what we could have had with Kamala if we had simply voted on the facts rather than the lies.

Religion influenced political ideology isn't making America great again. Rather it is plunging our country back to the pre-science dark ages.

The pardons given to so many clearly criminal individuals has changed the GOP to the MOB. Such blatant disregard for the rule of law is criminal.

Is American cycling back to Puritanism?

Have we ever had an administration that reacts to disinformation as predictably as this current administration?

It is rather asinine that medicare plans can keep changing for the very folks that have less & less ability to understand changes? Intentional?
November 13, 2025 at 2:10 AM
The question is: are we better off today than we were a year ago?
November 12, 2025 at 1:27 PM
So, what was gained by the 'cave'? Did the GOP promise to seriously consider the concerns raised by the Left? And, if so, did the leaders of the Left believe them?

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins claimed on Fox News that SNAP "increased almost 40%" in "just a couple of years under the Biden administration." She didn't specify what she meant, but the data show her claim is inaccurate regardless. www.snopes.com/news/2025/11...
Did SNAP benefits increase almost 40% under Biden administration? What we know
While the secretary did not elaborate on what, exactly, about SNAP increased by 40%, her claim doesn't make sense no matter how you look at the data.

Geez, it seems the qualification for a political office, left or right, is to demonstrate having a screw loose. We no longer vote for 'normal'?

It's crazy. Republicans want gun rights to defend against government threats against the rights of citizens, yet Republicans are the government & are threatening the rights of citizens.
