Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

I will die in the hill that apes ARE monkeys and that insisting on a distinction between them is founded in anthropocentrism.

Did you know. That the meme-explosion that was the wooden model of Sacabambaspis (an Ordovician jawless fish) held at a Museum in Helsinki, was created by a pioneering Estonian fish paleontologist and palaeoartist, Elga Mark-Kurik. 🧵

#FrankensteinSpoilers

Del Toro's lack of interest in the cycle of revenge (that ultimately doomed both the Creature and Victor) really turned me off of the film. Victor hunting the Creature to the ends of the Earth really doesn't hit as hard when everything the Creature did to him was accidental.

Sophie is pretty extraordinary: both as a fossil (I believe still one of only 3 substantially complete Stegosaurus ever found) and as a display. The mount by Brock Sisson really captures the vibe an angry, cornered, not-especially-bright reptile.
