Could someone please cite a scripture to suggest that cutting healthcare for 8 million people to pay for tax cuts for the rich is in line with Christian teaching?

The House votes to cut:

$800b in health care
$300b in food assistance
$300b in education

This is shameful

To those who keep saying #SB2 isn't about giving a tax break to millionaires and billionaires, I give you exhibit A: the House to just rejected an amendment that would have prevented wealthy families from taking taxpayer dollars to pay for private schools 60-84. #txlege

Texas' SB 2 is a billion dollar bill voucher bill with ramifications for our families, schools, and communities. Texans deserve a chance to vote on the bill before public dollars are diverted to private schools.

Call today and ask the #txlege to Let Texas Vote.

The Texas House Public Education Committee is hearing HB 3, the Voucher Bill that would take public dollars that could go to our local public schools and send them to unaccountable private schools.

Call the committee and ask them to vote no on HB 3 and instead direct those dollars to public schools

Good piece by Guthrie, and prayers for Bishop Budde and her church after a day of hateful rhetoric from the opponents of mainline Christianity.
Opinion | Trump’s angry response to a viral sermon should worry all Christians
Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde's words reflect the values held by a majority of American Christians — a fact that Trump’s divisive rhetoric seeks to obscure.

Prayers for President Trump and VP Vance-I pray they seek unity and govern with compassion.

I pray for those who are afraid of what is to come if the campaign promises are carried out.

I pray that people of faith are prepared to stand up for the poor and marginalized when necessary.

Movie suggestions for the evening before MLK Day and Trump Inauguration?

I have been watching Handmaid's Tale to prepare, but probably not great to watch with the kids tonight.

Dominated on the field, even though the scoreboard was closer than it should have been due to mistakes. Props to the defense for shutting out the A&M offense

Fun to have this game back, and fun to play for an SEC championship in year 1. Where are those folks who said Texas couldn't survive the SEC?

I held my first post to celebrate the U-10 Lions advancing to the HYSA Final so my first post wouldn't be about Matt Gaetz.
