One argument I tried to make to centrist, right-leaning folks during 2024 was that if you really hate street protest and unrest and chaos, then you should absolutely not vote for Donald Trump, because he 100% guarantees more.

What happened last night and today was manufactured propaganda by the Trump admin to justify using the military against Americans. Let us be clear: the military should never police civilians without a request from the state. So much for the so-called party of states’ rights and law and order.
