Why are most EV makers losing so much money? Battery? Labor? Inefficiency? “Despite these giant subsidies, Rivian lost about $4 billion on the 37,396 vehicles it has sold during the first nine months of this year. That’s $107,043 a vehicle. Ford loses only about $51,000 on each EV sold.” -WSJ

There is no escape from the entrenched dogmas. X is extreme right wing propaganda. Bluesky is trending towards angry liberals. Is there sanity anywhere? My feeds seem to say no which is very sad.

The "LLMs are just fancy autocomplete" crowd has been wrong about basically everything, but they have been very successful at getting people to ignore/downplay AI progress.
I still meet smart people who say stuff like "AI can't do basic math," meanwhile AlphaProof won a silver medal at the IMO.
