At the back of Revision Notes In Intensive Care Medicine there is a list of 59 key papers relating to intensive care medicine published between 1998 and 2015 (the book was published in 2016).
I'd like to keep my revision up to date. Are there any equivalent lists of key papers from 2016 to now?
Ok I have another one. What if I have a COPD patient who I can see usually sits with a pCO2 of 8 kpa (60mm) and they sustain a TBI.

Ventilate them down to a pCO2 of 4.5-5, even if it means I make them alkalaemic?

DKA with ?cerebral oedema, self ventilating her own pCO2 down to 2 (15 in 🦅 units). If she gets tubed, do I try to keep the CO2 the same, or do I aim for neuroprotective CO2?

Pharm bros! My boss today wouldn't give meropenem to a patient with a history of (non-anaphylactic) penicillin allergy. Is there any evidence to support this?

Vindicated. Despite looking well and having a good BP this patient is now on .5 of noradrenaline and intubated. Another CT but still no diagnosis...
Neutrophils of 45, lactate of 5 and HR 130 day 1 post laparoscopic reversal of ileostomy.
CT doesn't find anything definitely wrong in the abdomen. How worried are we?

Now I've not read Frankenstein in a while, but I know I thing or two about creating a monster.

I can hear my 4yo singing K-pop to himself while sitting on the toilet.

What have I done?

Both my sons grandfathers get super uncomfortable when he asks them to read to him. Was that generation's masculinity really so fragile that the idea of reading to a 4 year old threatens you?
